Kona Country Club Mauka: Located right in Kona, it is very easy to get to and is reasonably priced. The back nine on this course is my favorite 9 on the island. There are stunning views and some great holes and if you play from the tips, it can be a very tough course. Don't mind the mountain goats that heckle you in your backswing. Don’t forget the greens tend to break towards the ocean
Big Island Country Club: This is about a 40 minute drive to get to from the home, but is well worth the trip. It is a Pete Dye Signature course that has some of the most beautiful holes you'll ever play. On a clear day, you can see Maui, and the view of Mauna Kea is beautiful. Because of the remoteness of the course, the price is the best value compared to the quality in my opinion.
Makalei: This course is located just north of Kona about 10 miles. Reasonably priced, and offers great views. Don’t leave your chips in the cart if they are opened because you'll look back and the peacocks will be eating them.
